The Cooperative College opened its doors to the public on 23rd October 1979 as a Cooperative Management Training Institution under the Ministry of Agriculture
and Cooperatives. Since then, the College has expanded its scope of activities to include training in Agribusiness Management, Cooperatives and Business Management as long courses and short courses in skill based courses and other related areas.

The College was in 2015 moved to the Ministry of Commerce ,Trade and Industry and in 2021 ,the institution was further moved to the newly created Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise Development under the Department of Cooperatives.

Apart from training ,the College now has expanded in its production units including the leather studio ,printing and farm.

The mandate of the college is to provide training to Cooperatives and SMEs
